Some technical requirements for this position are:

Requires sitting for long periods of time, working at a computer terminal. Some bending and stretching required. Ability to lift papers or boxes up to 30 pounds occasionally. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range. Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination required for use of calculators, phones, computer keyboards and other equipment. Requires ability to sustain concentration in a noisy and fast-paced environment. May be exposed to communicable diseases and bodily fluids.

Day to Day: 

  • Interview applicants to obtain eligibility information, with sensitivity toward clients’ needs.

• Conduct a client interview that includes a medical history, anthropometric measurements, 24-hour recall, and hematocrit.

• Maintain confidentiality of clients and staff

• Correctly interpret eligibility information and document this information in a computer file.

• Provide nutrition and health education to clients; educate clients about WIC rules and regulations.

• Refer clients as needed to other community resources

• Issue benefits and schedule clients.

• Participate in quality assurance standards through peer review.

• Nutrition related projects as requested; participate in staff in-service meetings; clerical tasks as needed; assume janitorial duties as required.

  • Maintain organized, clean, efficient, and confidential work area.


  • Represent YNHS in local meetings as requested. Perform related work and other tasks as requested.
