Medical Assistant Supervisor

Medical Assistant Supervisors are responsible for the daily management and over-site of Certified and Registered Medical Assistants at clinic sites in the Yakima valley, overseeing integrated care for under-served populations.  This  fast paced management position works with other professionals  to provide team-based care and maximize patient service.  The Medical Assistant Supervisor works closely with other primary care leadership members (nursing, behavioral health, pharmacy, dental, care coordination and social services) , and  provides training and coaching on clinical skills;  assists and oversees  quality assurance, infection control procedures, and oversees customer service activities.

Our Ideal Candidate: We are looking for a team member that is passionate about serving and caring for our community of patients, has a great attention to detail and loves working on a team. Some technical requirements for this position are:

  • Clinical experience and active license as Registered Nurse with at least 3 years experience in primary care, and/or Certified Medical Assistant with at least 5 years experience in primary care; supervisory experience preferred;  demonstrated knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation; experience using electronic health entry.  
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instruction.  
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
  • Candidate has not been sanctioned or excluded from participation in federal or state healthcare programs by a federal or state law enforcement, regulatory, or licensing agency.

Day to Day:

  • Manage staffing assignments and schedules to maximize patient flow
  • Plan and provide regular staff training and monitoring activities.
  • Assist with patient care, including  treatment, referrals, and follow-up
  • Assist other medical services staff with patient flow as needed and/or directed.
  • Assist as needed with supply management
  • Maintain proper sanitation standards, according to YNHS procedure, both with cleaning and sterilization procedures of patient facilities and instruments.
  • Administer procedures as directed by supervisors and in accordance with Washington State Health Care Assistant regulations.
  • Maintain organized, clean, efficient, and confidential work area.
  • Represent YNHS in local meetings as requested.
  • Perform related work and other tasks as requested.
