Registered Dietitian

We are looking for:

We are looking for a team member who is passionate about serving our community of patients and enjoys working in a team! Day to day, registered dieticians: 

  • Provide nutrition assessment, counseling, and education to clients of YNHS
  • Attend case conferences regularly with other YNHS MSS team members to address the comprehensive needs of the clients
  • Assist in the development of YNHS Nutrition policies, protocols, and quality assurance standards
  • Develop and maintain appropriate connections with other dietitians in the community who may share YNHS clients
  • Work in coordination with other YNHS health providers to develop education programs for YNHS patients and staff
  • Provide high-risk counseling to WIC clients
  • Provide diabetes education to YNHS patients; participate in an interdisciplinary team of diabetic interventions as requested
  • Participate in quality assurance activities and peer review as requested
  • Assist in the development of the annual WIC Nutrition Education Plan
  • Work cooperatively with students, modeling and directing dietetic activities
  • Participate in staff in-service training; assume janitorial duties as required; other miscellaneous tasks as assigned
  • Maintain the confidentiality of clients and staff
  • Maintain an organized, clean, efficient, and confidential work area
  • Represent YNHS in local meetings as requested
  • Perform related work or other tasks as requested

Position details:

  • $34-$39.10/hour
  • Master's Degree in Nutrition or Public Health Nutrition, or Registered as a Dietitian with the Commission on Dietetic Registration, or Eligible for registration by the CDR
  • Experience in Maternal Child Health or have a willingness to learn
  • Certification or experience as a Diabetic Educator preferred 
  • Skill in customer service
  • Knowledge of grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Skills in data entry
  • Ability to speak clearly and concisely 
  • Ability to read, understand, and follow oral and written instructions 
  • Preference will be given to bilingual English/Spanish speakers or those proficient in ASL
  • This job requires that you are fully vaccinated against COVID-19
